Introducing Thomas Taylor, Historical Interpreter & Ropemaker. Using natural fibres and manual equipment, Thomas recreates the process for making cordage, rope and nets, useful commodities throughout history. The Ropery at Old Bolsover Yard is in the process of being revamped ready for its new tenant. Sunday 12th April sees the first demonstration of Ropemaking at Old Bolsover Yard. This event proves to be a unique attraction for fans of crafts and medieval times. Utilising natural fibres and recreated tools from the medieval period the process for making cordage, rope and nets will be demonstrated along with the opportunity for visitors to get involved. A further demonstration will also take place on Monday 13th April 2020. |

If you are a small business looking to showcase your talents there's still time to get involved with our Makers Markets. Starting in April these will run throughout the year giving the opportunity for local traders to show all the fabulous things that are made in Bolsover and the surrounding area.
